WORKPLACE COOK & MEAL PLANNER

Part time (~25 hours/week), must live in Phoenix area

The Self-Arising Nature Center is a destination for flower essence experiences and education, supporting LOTUSWEI’s mission — to reach 3% of the world’s population with mood-boosting flower elixirs, and scale the art of transformation. You’ll play a vital role in nourishing our team from the inside out — literally — by preparing intentional meals that support our physical and emotional wellbeing.

This role is ideal for someone who loves creating beauty and balance through food — someone with home cooking experience and an intuitive knack for meal planning. If you’re organized, responsive, creative with dietary needs, and find joy in nourishing others, you may be the one we’re looking for.

This is a part-time, in-person position with the opportunity to be involved in a creative side project: helping us develop a SAN Center Recipe Book.

References and a clean drug test required. Part time, in-person.

  • Design weekly Lunch menus that reflect variety, balance, and thoughtful consideration of dietary needs (e.g., gluten-free, dairy-free, potato-free, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the team to align meals with preferences, sensitivities, and seasonal inspiration
  • Highlight East Asian-inspired dishes and flavors (Thai, Malaysian, Korean, etc.) and incorporate nourishing staples like soups, rice cooker dishes, organ meats (e.g., chicken liver pâté), bitter gourd, and claypot-style meals
  • Source and procure fresh ingredients, keeping quality and simplicity in mind

Meal Preparation & Kitchen Stewardship

  • Prepare daily lunches, snacks, and warm beverages for a team of up to 10 staff (occasional dinners as needed)
  • Portion, store, and prep ingredients efficiently
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including dishwashing, waste management, and surface sanitation

Admin & Engagement

  • Track inventory and manage grocery runs
  • Document recipes, dietary notes, and kitchen systems
  • Create monthly feedback reports and recipe documentation
  • Engage with team members to understand preferences and adjust offerings

  • Experience cooking for groups or families (restaurant experience not required)
  • Familiarity with Eastern flavors and traditional cooking techniques is a plus
  • Appreciation or awareness of Weston A. Price food philosophy is a bonus
  • Confident with food safety and sanitation practices
  • Skillful with dietary adjustments and creative substitutions
  • Open to learning new recipes and techniques
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Able to work independently, confidentially, and joyfully in a shared environment
